one little technical problem about Honest John has to do with avoiding schadenfreuden. it never comes off well. you find a lot of it in cheap fiction. also schadenfreuden tends to make fiction cheap ( Read more... )

I have started to work once more on Honest John, really. I even passed up a chance to perhaps make a $100 in order to work on the book. the urge set in Saturday evening.

I realized that certain scenes seemed wrong somehow because of the order, so I re-arranged them. I could get away with Honest John's sourness if I could alternate them with scenes ( Read more... )

the day before yesterday I worked a little bit on Honest John. I mostly revised and changed around one early scene. I did end up writing a little new material, too.
